SaeJin Lee, MA, is a clinical counselor and art therapist. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Art and Religion from Goshen College, Indiana, and a Master of Arts in Art Therapy and Counseling from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. SaeJin has extensive experience working with children and youth from various immigrant communities. SaeJin has also worked as a Children’s Advocate for the past five years, walking with young people who have experienced domestic and sexual violence. Her approach to psychotherapy is eclectic, centering the client and their strength, while offering genuine, and empathetic presence. SaeJin is influenced by psychoanalytic and psychodynamic thought, valuing the function of the unconscious and discovering unexpected surprises along the way. SaeJin believes that much of psychotherapy is about the courageous, terrifying, and sacred work of facing oneself. She feels incredibly honored to be invited into this journey by her clients, and sees her role as accompanying them with compassion and curiosity, while listening closely and reflecting back the insights they uncover about themselves. SaeJin is LGBTQ+-affirming, and offers her services in English and Korean.
